Psychotherapist, Co-Founder of Threshold Experiential Therapy

About Me

I believe we're all born with an inner wisdom--an impulse toward connection, healing, and wholeness. At the same time, our experience is profoundly shaped by the many contexts we move through in life.  When such contexts feel isolating or threatening in some way, our inner intelligence becomes more survival-oriented. We develop protective strategies that serve us for a time but ultimately limit us. As a therapist, I support the recovery and unfolding of each person's inner healer. This process involves bringing mindful attention to one's moment-to-moment embodied experience, held within the container of a supportive and accepting therapeutic relationship. Over time, such exploration organically transforms stuck patterns, opening new possibilities and deepening one’s sense of inner and outer connectedness.

Who I Work With

I work with adults interested in deepening their sense of meaning and aliveness as an essential aspect of their healing journey.  Depth-oriented experiential therapy is especially effective when the person is motivated towards self-exploration and has some familiarity with attending to their present-moment experience, such as through meditation, embodiment practices, or creative process. In addition to ongoing psychotherapy, I am open to shorter-term psychedelic integration work depending on availability and fit.  I also offer training and consultation in relational mindfulness and applied Polyvagal Theory for helping professionals, caregivers, and organizations.

My Approach

I draw from a variety of experiential therapies, including Hakomi (a mindful, somatic psychotherapy), AEDP (a relational, experiential model), and parts work informed by these modalities as well as IFS. I’m also influenced by archetypal and mythopoetic perspectives, contemplative and nondual wisdom streams, Earth-based spirituality, and Polyvagal Theory (a holistic view of how the nervous system seeks safety and connection while working to protect us from perceived threats).

Outside the Therapy Room

I’ve been practicing mindfulness and other types of meditation for over twenty years.  These days, my three children and Wild Nature are my primary spiritual teachers.
