Psychotherapist, Co-Founder of Threshold Experiential Therapy

About Me

Hi, I’m Ryan. I see self-compassion and self-acceptance as the cornerstones of transformation. I also understand that these are often difficult to cultivate in a world where self-criticism is often the norm. In my therapy practice I weave together a variety of modalities including Hakomi, Polyvagal theory, and somatic practices. This creates a dynamic, integrative, therapeutic approach to meet clients where they are, with the intention of facilitating change and growth.

Who I Work With

I work with clients experientially, to explore deeper layers of the psyche than traditional talk therapy can usually access. My ideal client is someone who is motivated to make positive changes in their lives, and to examine the blind spots that may inhibit that change. Many of my clients are interested in mindfulness practices, are seeking spiritual direction, and have an appreciation for the body as an expression of the unconscious.

My Approach

Through the lens of Transpersonal Psychology, Polyvagal Theory, and Hakomi, I work with clients to help them regulate their nervous system and work towards resolution of underlying tension, to find greater ease in their body/mind, and in their day to day lives. I am somatically oriented and have a background in spiritual practices such as mindfulness meditation, Buddhist psychology, and the devotional path of yoga (bhakti) yoga. I offer a safe, non-judgmental space for clients to explore all areas of their lives, from the sacred to the mundane.
